5 Essential Oils For Hemorrhoid Relief

Hemorrhoids are a common problem that millions of people will face in their lifetime. 

Mostessential oils for hemorrhoids outbreaks are minor and can be treated from the comfort of your own home.

There are many popular ways to find hemorrhoid relief, such as; warm sitz baths, aloe vera, over the counter pain relievers, hemorrhoid creams and witch hazel.

However, there are other effective ways to treat hemorrhoids besides the more common choices above such as with essential oils.

Essential oils can help hemorrhoids by reducing the swelling, relieving the burning, itching and irritation, improving circulation, shrinking blood vessels and stopping the bleeding.

Some essential oils for hemorrhoids can be used on their own, while others need to be mixed with a carrier oil before using topically such as castor oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil and grape seed oil.

Following are 5 essential oils that have been shown to provide hemorrhoid relief.

 

Lavender Oil

 

Lavender oil is one of the most popular essential oils and its healing powers are used for many different reasons in a variety of ways.

Some of the benefits of Lavender oil are that it helps to relieve pain, works as a disinfectant and improves blood circulation. 

To use Lavender oil for hemorrhoids, you can use it on its own by applying a few drops to a cotton ball and placing directly on the hemorrhoid area.

Lavender oil can also be mixed with other essential oils such as tea tree oil or olive oil for additional healing benefits.

You can also add lavender oil to a warm sitz bath to increase its effectiveness.

For best results use two or three times daily.

 

Cypress Oil

 

Cypress oil works to contract blood vessels and tighten and heal tissue. 

Because of this, cypress oil works well on hemorrhoids, particularly bleeding hemorrhoids.

Cypress oil also works to combat swelling and irritation associated with hemorrhoids.

To use as a hemorrhoids treatment, mix a few drops of cypress oil with a carrier oil such as castor oil, coconut oil or jojoba oil and apply directly to the hemorrhoid.

Cypress oil can also be added to a warm sitz bath for additional relief.

 

Tea Tree Oil

 

Tea tree oil has been used for centuries to treat a variety of ailments, including hemorrhoids.

Tea tree oil has a wide array of healing properties to include antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antiseptic.  

It also act as an anti-inflammatory which helps reduce hemorrhoid swelling.

Pure tea tree oil tends to be very strong and can cause skin irritation.  So to use tea tree oil on your hemorrhoids, it should be mixed with a carrier oil such as castor oil or olive oil before applying to the hemorrhoid area.

 

Avocado Oil

 

Avocado oil is loaded with unsaturated fats and vitamin E.  It is derived from the flesh of the avocado fruit.

Avocado oils emollient, absorption and healing properties work well to relieve hemorrhoid discomfort by helping to soothe, heal and regenerate the tissue and reduce inflammation.

Avocado oil can be applied directly to the hemorrhoid using a cotton ball or gauze.  It can also be added to a sitz bath.

If using in a sitz bath, soak for fifteen to twenty minutes several times daily until the hemorrhoid swelling has gone down. 

 

Chamomile Oil

 

Chamomile oil soothes skin irritation, heals and rejuvenates skin and reduces pain and swelling, which makes it a great hemorrhoid treatment.

When applied to hemorrhoids, chamomile oil will also help to minimize itching and irritation.

To treat hemorrhoids you can add chamomile to a warm bath and soak for at least fifteen minutes or you can dilute it with a carrier oil such as castor oil or coconut oil and apply it directly to the area to relieve hemorrhoid pain fast.
